Terms of use
The short, readable kind.
What QuietPix is
QuietPix is a set of free browser tools for images, PDFs, video, audio and text. Every tool runs on your own device using WebAssembly, so there is no account to create, no file to upload and no server holding your work. You may use the tools for personal and commercial work, including client work, without asking permission or paying anything.
What you keep
Everything. You own the files you bring and the files you produce here, and nothing in these terms gives us a claim to either. We never see them: there is no upload endpoint in this product, so there is no copy for us to hold, license or examine. Output carries no watermark and no attribution requirement.
No warranty
The tools are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We work hard to make them accurate and reliable, and the test suite verifies every tool against real files on every change. Still, keep your originals. QuietPix never modifies the file you drop in — it reads it and produces a new one — but you are responsible for checking the result before relying on it, especially for anything legal, medical, official or irreversible.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the tools, including lost work or a result that did not meet a requirement you were given. If an outcome matters, verify it before you submit it.
What the tools cannot do
Being honest about limits is part of the agreement. Compression is lossy unless the page says otherwise, so quality is traded for size by design. The AI tools — restoring, colourising, upscaling, removing a background — produce a plausible result, not a factual one: a restored face is a reconstruction and a colourised photo shows invented colour. Do not present that output as evidence of how something actually looked. Every tool needs a reasonably current browser and enough free memory; on an older phone a large file may not finish, and the tool will say so rather than fail quietly.
Fair use
Do not use QuietPix to process content you have no right to use, and do not use it to produce material that is illegal where you are. Do not attempt to disrupt the site for others. Automated scraping of the pages is pointless anyway — the tools run in your browser, so there is no API behind them to call.
Availability
The site is offered free of charge with no uptime promise. Tools may change, improve or be withdrawn, and pages may move. Because everything runs locally, a page you already have open keeps working even if the site goes down — and keeps working with your connection switched off.
Ads
The site shows ads to stay free. Ad providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and set their own cookies, which we describe on thecookie policy page. Ads sit outside the tool itself and never have access to the files you process. There are no interstitials and no popups. See theprivacy policy for what is and is not collected.
Open source
QuietPix is built on open source codecs and models, each under its own licence. Those are listed with their terms on the licenses page; using the site does not change your obligations under them if you go on to use those components yourself.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product grows. Meaningful changes will be visible on this page, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept them.
