How do I get a voice memo off my iPhone?
In the Voice Memos app, tap the recording, tap the share icon, and AirDrop it to your Mac or send it to yourself. You get an M4A file; drop it here and it becomes an MP3.
Why MP3 instead of the original M4A?
MP3 opens everywhere: old players, Windows tools, transcription services, court and HR submission portals. M4A sometimes gets rejected or needs extra software.
Is my voice memo uploaded?
No, and for personal recordings that matters. The conversion runs in your browser via WebAssembly; the file never touches a server. Turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads and it still works.
Does this work with Android recorder apps?
Yes. Most Android voice recorders also produce M4A (or 3GP/AMR); drop whatever the app gives you and you get a standard MP3 back.
