How do I crop a video?
Drop the video, drag a rectangle over the live preview to mark what you want to keep, click Crop. The selection maps to the video’s real pixels and the result downloads as a universal MP4 — all in your browser.
Is cropping the same as trimming?
No — trimming cuts time (shorter video), cropping cuts frame (smaller picture). Removing a screen-recording sidebar or reframing a phone video is cropping; cutting the boring first minute is trimming, and we have a separate tool for that.
Does the audio survive?
Yes — the soundtrack is carried over untouched in sync. Only the picture is reframed.
Will I lose quality?
Cropping requires a re-encode; it happens at high quality (CRF 23), visually transparent for most footage. The cropped area keeps its original pixels — nothing is scaled.
Is my video uploaded?
No. FFmpeg runs in your browser via WebAssembly. Screen recordings with sensitive windows, personal footage — nothing leaves your device.
