Frequently asked questions
My subtitles are 3 seconds late. What do I enter?
Enter -3 (negative pulls subtitles earlier). If the text appears before it is spoken, enter a positive number to push it later.
How do I find the right offset?
Jump to a clearly spoken line, note when the audio says it versus when the text shows, and use the difference. One adjustment usually fixes the whole file.
Is my subtitle file uploaded?
No. Shifting happens in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
What if the drift grows over time?
That is a frame-rate mismatch, not a fixed offset; a constant shift will not fully fix it. A two-point stretch mode is on the roadmap for exactly this case.
