Why is muting so fast here?
For MP4 and MOV files the audio track is simply dropped while the video data is copied bit for bit, no re-encoding. Even a large file finishes in seconds. Other formats are re-encoded to a universal silent MP4.
Does the video quality change?
For MP4/MOV sources: zero change, the video stream is untouched. For WebM/MKV sources the video is re-encoded once at high quality (CRF 23).
Is my video uploaded?
No. The audio removal happens in your browser through WebAssembly FFmpeg. A screen recording with background conversation never leaves your device.
Can I remove audio from several videos?
