Why convert PNG to WebP?
PNG is lossless and great for screenshots and graphics, but its files are heavy — often 5–10x larger than a modern format at the same visible quality. WebP files are typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality — ideal for websites.

Screenshots pile up as PNGs and they are heavy. Converting them to WebP before attaching them to a ticket, a document or a website cuts most of the weight while keeping text sharp, and WebP keeps transparency if the screenshot has any.
What it costs you
WebP at quality 90 is lossy: very fine text or a one-pixel line can soften slightly. If the PNG is a diagram that must stay pixel-exact, keep the PNG.

Is it really private? Where do my PNG files go?
Nowhere. The PNG is decoded and re-encoded as WebP by your own browser, using WebAssembly — the same technology behind Photopea and Google's Squoosh. Load this page, switch off your internet, and the conversion still works. There is no upload step to opt out of, because there is no server to upload to.
Is there a file size or daily limit?
No. Your device does the work, so there is no bill for us to protect. The practical ceiling is your own memory: a batch of PNG files converts fine, but very large images on an older phone can run out of room, and the tool will say so rather than fail silently.
