Will the result really send on Discord?
Yes. The encoder budgets 7% under the cap for container overhead, so the file lands safely below 10 MB, not at 10.1.
What happens to the resolution?
Width is capped at 1280 pixels (720p-class), which is what Discord renders inline anyway. Smaller sources keep their size.
Is my video uploaded to compress it?
No. The re-encode runs in your browser through WebAssembly FFmpeg. The oversized original never leaves your device, which also means no waiting for a giant upload.
How does the tool hit the size?
It reads your clip's length, computes the exact bitrate that fits 10 MB with a safety margin for container overhead, and encodes once. Short clips simply come out at high quality.
